Toys From Our Textile Workshop Were Great New Year Gifts For Young Cancer Patients
Actors of The Sun House Theatre together with the staff of the Textile Workshop of St Elisabeth Convent held a New Year event in Children's Cancer Centre in Baraŭliany.
The Textile Workshop and The Sun House Theatre have been involved in a joint social project titled More Than A Gift for over half a year. Within the frameworks of this project, the actors wrote a script based on fairy tales composed by the children, and staged an interactive performance. Beside that, the Textile Workshop informs the public about the issues related to the Children's Cancer Centre during all its exhibitions and presentations.
The actors turned into Fathers Christmas and Snow Maidens and did a New Year tour around the hospital wards on December 30. The children received both positive feelings and toys made by the staff of the Textile Workshop.
Textile toys are unique because they are made of natural materials and have a calming effect. Our artists believe that these beautiful toy animals made of cashmere and linen will become good friends for the children.
